An area congressman is trying to set the record straight on his view on healthcare reform.
12th District Congressman Pat Tiberi says he supports true healthcare reform.
“We believe the people should be provided the assurance that if they have a pre-existing condition they still have access to affordable healthcare.”
He says the GOP bill also allows for competition.
Tiberi says the democrat bill does a lot of different things including cutting Medicare by $500 million.
“One out of three seniors in my district have something called a Medicare advantage plan. They like it, consumer rates are really high for that plan and this bill just takes a knife to Medicare advantage.”
Tiberi urges that if you are against this bill, call either Senator George Voinovich or Senator Sherrod Brown and tell them to vote against the issue.
